
Prior to
ordination as a Sub-Deacon, Deacon, or Priest in any jurisdiction
within the Old Holy Roman Church of the English Rite, the candidate
must demonstrate proficiency in each of the areas of public worship
and sacraments as detailed below. This must be performed either in
person or by video/audio before an examiner appointed by the
Patriarchal See, which may delegate this authority to the various
provinces and dioceses. This requirement is intended as much as a
learning exercise as an examination.
Sub-Deacon:
Proper Chant of the Epistle
Performance of the duties of the Sub-Deacon in a high mass
Deacon:
Proper Chant of the Gospel and actions in a Gospel Procession
Performance of the duties of the Deacon in a high mass
Priest:
Entire low mass
Demonstration of additional actions used in the high mass or sung mass
Administration of the Sacrament of Confession
Administration of the Sacrament of Holy Unction
Administration of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony
Administration of the Sacrament of Baptism (Solemn Form)
