MINOR SEMINARY OUTLINE OF STUDIES
(Diplomate of Sacred Theology)
2014

N.b. Programs subject to change without notice on this page. Postulants and seminarians should consult college administration for official information.
Speed of progress may vary by student. Neither academic degrees nor ordination are guaranteed. Academic degrees and ordination are only conferred
after all qualifications have been met and upon thorough and successful examination by ecclesiastical authorities.

The following outline is of the standard course of studies for progression through Minor Seminary. Through the Minor Seminary, students at universities may prepare for further study in Major Seminary and progress in the Minor Orders through Porter. Postulants who already possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent still must pass the Minor Seminary program, though they may be permitted to do so at an accelerated pace. While each level is analogous to a semester, each student moves at his own appropriate pace, under the guidance of his formation director. It is the purpose of clerical formation to gain as much knowledge as possible from each course for the benefit of the cleric's sacred ministry. The texts indicated for each course are the standard texts, though the formation director may substitute another equivalent text.
