The Pontifical Mitres

The Archfather makes use of the Pontifical Mitres. Its solemn and regular form is gold or white and gold, with jewels, and icons. This mitre is used regardless of liturgical occasion or colour. It is used likewise regardless of rite. It is used whenever the precious or the golden mitre is called for in the rubrics. The simplex mitre of the Archfather is gold, with icons and minimal or no jewels.

(This style of mitre is used by all bishops of the Gallo-Russo-Byzantine Rite.)
