Patriarchal
Letter regarding the Liturgy in Election of a Patriarch of Saint Stephen
The
mass in election of a Patriarch is the Votive Mass of the Holy
Spirit, with red vestments.
Upon the election of the Patriarch, the general Votive Mass of
Thanksgiving is used, with the collects for the Patriarch used in
place of those given for the Mass of Thanksgiving. The solemn
col-lect for the Patriarch, as given in the Liber Usualis for the
Bishop with "Antistite" replaced with
"Patriarcho," follows the Last Gospel. Red vestments are
used for this liturgy.
Given in the Court of Saint Mary of Walsingham this 15th day of March
in the two thousand thirteenth year of the Incarnation.
